Have you helped the people of Gaza?

Just wanted to highlight the dire HUMANITARIAN status of people of Gaza, and humbly appeal for the urgent need to give whatever aid (financial or otherwise) to the people of Gaza!

I understand there are few appeals being conducted in the Maldives as well, which is very good. I have provided links (on the right hand side) for the urgent Gaza appeals run by UN (both UNRWA and UNICEF), the DEC (which is comprised of world-renowned and well respected charity organisations such as Oxfam, Save the Children, British Red Cross etc), and the Human appeal (Australian).

So, please, act fast and donate generously, regardless of your ethnic or religious/spiritual background, as we cannot let those innocent children (and women and elderly) die if we ever have a means of helping them!

Every little help (be it a single dollar/pound etc) counts and make the diference between life and death for these people!

May God Almighty give us the ability to give whatever help we can and may He accept our sincere efforts. Amen!

May Allah Bless you brother for playing your part remembering the children & people of Gaza.

Isn’t it amazing that for 22 long days Israel a mere spec amongst the vast expanse of Arab lands subjected Gaza to the type of carnage that was perhaps only seen in Falluja, Lebanon or in the distant past in Dresden? How can one explain this phenomenon?

For 22 days the death toll mounted until 1284 Gazans killed compared to 13 Israelis of which 9 were soldiers. The Arab nations with millions of Muslims in them sat & stared. We learn that many of the big Arab players were hopeful that Israel would deliver a resounding victory at the expense of the Gazan pain.

Wither art we blundering Muslims? Where are the lofty memories that we treasure so much? Don’t we have the word of Allah pronouncing on the oppressed? Have we forgotten the noble examples of brotherhood amongst Muslims 1400 years ago?

Have we forgotten our Prophet –Pbuh? The Prophet who was tortured, who was subject to ridicule, and whose blood gushed out in the outskirts of Taif, at the hands of pitiless children; All this hardship he had borne in order to save us - His Ummah, from a certain fire. Yet we dare forget his words……

“The Muslim Ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is in pain then the whole body is in pain”

Brothers! Sisters! There is something very wrong with us. Let us fervently ask Allah to have Mercy and Guide us. Lets all ask Allah to give us strength to change ourselves in accordance to His Will. Lets take firm grip of the rope that Allah cast towards us so that we might be saved. That rope is the holy Koran.

In parting do not despair. Allah is Living, He is Eternal, He is All Seeing, All Hearing, The Merciful. He is not very far to us. In Koranic terms closer than our Jugular veins. And Allah says in Qudsi Hadis the following…

Allah the Lord of Glory and Honour says: “…When someone approaches Me a hands length, I approach him an arm’s length; when someone walks towards Me, I run towards him; and when someone comes to Me (seeking My forgiveness) full of as many sins as the whole world contains, I meet him with an equal amount of forgiveness. – Muslim.

What a promise! Lets turn to Allah. Then and only then would we really begin to feel the emptiness in the houses of those 1284 homes in Gaza, yesterday, today & tomorrow; and do something about them.

May Allah Give the Gazans strength to meet the test. Amin!

Allah knows Best! Please do correct me if I’m wrong.

Peace!
